Hot cooling
systems – the progressive solution to the problems
When designing for instance new furnaces a hot cooling system
shall already be taken into account in the economy analysis and
the environmental impact assessment.
As existing furnace plants can be retrofitted with a Reining hot
cooling system without affecting the basic furnace design, this
system constitutes the optimum solution to cease wasting energy
and water associated with the traditional cooling system.
Definitions of terms for cooling installations
In the first place the term “hot cooling” appears to be a
contradiction in itself but there is a meaningful explanation
which can be related to the temperature of the cooling medium as
follows:
0 to 40 degree C = cold water cooling
40 to 100 degree C = hot water cooling
above 100 degree C = hot cooling
When furnace components are cooled with a medium at a
temperature above 100 degree C, this is referred to as hot
cooling.
